Odyssey Appoints Dr. Douglas Blake as Director of Operations Announces New Office Expansion at Eglin AFB

FORT WALTON BEACH, FL – MARCH 2, 2026 – Odyssey, a leading provider of integrated defense capabilities and technologies, has appointed Air Force and defense industry veteran Dr. Douglas Blake as Director of Operations. In this role, Blake will lead Odyssey’s regional operations and oversee the company’s new office in Niceville, Florida, which was established to provide dedicated support for customer programs at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB). The company’s new office is designed to enhance local collaboration with Eglin leadership, supporting and accelerating lifecycle management for Air Force weapons systems and advanced technologies.

Blake brings four decades of high-level leadership experience to Odyssey. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Reliance Test and Technology, LLC, where he managed a 900-person team responsible for the Eglin Test and Training Range. His military and government experience spans active-duty Air Force enlisted and officer ranks, engineering leadership roles within the Air Force Test Center, Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Research Laboratory, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Federal Aviation Administration, and ultimately as the Acting Executive Director of the Office of Naval Research.

Odyssey Selected to Drive Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate

Wakefield, Mass. – Jan 19, 2026 — Odyssey, a leading provider of integrated defense capabilities and technologies, announced today it has been awarded the prime contract to partner with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EB). Odyssey’s role supports building the weapons arsenal of the future, aligning with one of the Department of War’s highest priorities. This single-award, 5-year contract combines three predecessor contracts under one, upon which the Odyssey team will provide professional acquisition, engineering, test, logistics, scientific, research, financial, and specialty support. The ceiling value of this Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command contract exceeds $725 million.

Odyssey’s new contract will focus on delivering comprehensive support across Air Force armament programs, including air dominance, munitions, strike systems, long-range capabilities, agile and rapid-response operations, and next-generation weapons development.

The new office location will support Armament Directorate operations as well as other USAF customers the company supports at Eglin and in the surrounding area, including Hurlburt Field. Plans are also in consideration to expand Odyssey’s operations in Utah, just outside of Hill AFB, and in middle Georgia, by Robins AFB, in alignment with Odyssey’s growing presence at those locations, expanding further as a result of this contract win.

Proven Performance Secures Odyssey Recompete of Intestinal Infection Research with Walter Reed Army Institute of Research

Wakefield, Mass.— November 4, 2025 — Odyssey, a leading provider of integrated defense capabilities and technologies, announced today it has been awarded a recompete contract to research and develop new countermeasures and interventions for the Diarrheal Disease Group within the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR).

“Being awarded this recompete contract by WRAIR, reaffirms Odyssey’s Life Sciences Group role as a trusted partner in delivering advanced, comprehensive and impactful research to inform the development of such critical countermeasures,” said Stefania Dobre, Executive Director of Odyssey’s Life Sciences Group. “The innovations developed will not only support the U.S. Armed forces, but will also have a global impact in fighting common pathogens – Shigella, Campylobacter, and Enterotoxigenic E. coli – that lead to diarrheal disease.”

Partnering with Goldbelt Apex, the 5-year contract research objectives focus on the development of prophylactics, vaccines and therapeutics against the most common pathogens that when combined are a major source of illness among deployed warfighters. These illnesses can impact the warfighter for upwards of four days resulting in an unplanned reduction in force.

“Our WRAIR Diarrheal Disease Research (DDR) department has contributed to the development of seven different vaccine products, including one that has reached Phase II clinical trial and another that is in Phase I testing,” said Dr. Bob McLinden, Senior Program Manager at Odyssey Systems. “The significant and impactful work this department has done and will continue to do is what makes it the premier enteric pathogen countermeasure research program in the DoD.”

She’s also served as a senior advisor for the McChrystal Group, where she supported clients by providing strategic guidance, tackling complex challenges, and facilitating the creation of high-performing teams. Before ManTech, Julie led strategy, client relations, and technology functions for the public sector divisions of brands, including Splunk and Gartner.

She is a Navy veteran, having served 24 years on active duty as a Surface Warfare Officer and Naval Aviator before retiring as a Commander. She continued serving the Navy as a civilian Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Pentagon, where she led policy and governance over technology investments, implementation, and cybersecurity.

Bobby joins Odyssey with more than 30 years of experience leading technology teams in both the U.S. Air Force and the private sector. Bobby served 27 years in the United States Air Force, holding various leadership roles, including Chief of the Enterprise IT and Cyber Division for Air Force Acquisition at the Pentagon. His career culminated as a Senior Materiel Leader of the Enterprise IT and Cyber Infrastructure Division at Hanscom Air Force Base, where he led a 900-person team overseeing $6.5 billion in enterprise IT and cyber programs for the Department of the Air Force and Joint and Coalition forces.

Odyssey also recently added retired U.S. Air Force colonel Mike Harm as Executive Director of its C2ISR business unit and retired U.S. Air Force colonel John Kurian as Executive Director for its Aviation business unit, earlier this summer.

Odyssey Systems Defends Intervention Research Contract for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research

Wakefield, Mass.–April. 14, 2025—Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd, a leading provider of integrated defense capabilities and technologies, announced today it was re-awarded a contract to develop new interventions for wound infections and pre-injury Point-of-Injury (POI), and post-injury care within the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Center for Military Infectious Disease Research (CIDR), Bacterial Diseases Branch (BDB), and the Wound Infections Department (WID).

With an estimated contract value of over $20 million, research objectives align to the WID’s focus on defeating combat related wound infections such as bacterial pathogens of military relevance and the immunopathogenesis of infection including structural biology, bacteriophage therapeutics, traumatology and bacterial pathogenesis.

His long-standing career at the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) includes driving transformation in customer service, market research, and operational excellence at Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) where he was the Director of the Office of Customer Care (OCC).
