Odyssey Employee Achievements
Odyssey is a great company made up of great people. So, it’s only fitting that we recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the best employees in the business. Below are just a few recent examples of the tremendous achievements of our Odyssey team.
Aviation
Shane Schleusner‘s expert assistance proved critical in preparing the AFTENCAP Program Element Monitor (PEM) for Staff briefs to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Armed Services Committee, and the Senate Appropriations Committee—Defense. Shane provided detailed explanations, organizational ‘corporate knowledge’, and illustrative walk-throughs of different topics and select Talons/development efforts. The Staffer briefs for AF TENCAP were highly successful; the PEM “killed it,” and no follow-up RFIs were issued. According to the Director, AF TENCAP, the PEM “gave a big shout out to our team” and “She specifically called out Shane…”
John Kusnierek and Charles “Chuck” McMahon: The Light Reconnaissance Foreign Military Sales branch has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 General Mark A. Welsh One Air Force Award at the U.S. Air Force level. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire “Buckeyes” team supporting Strategic ISR Advancement, Enhanced Lebanese Security, Counterterrorism in Tunisia, and Korean Peninsula Stability. Great job, John and Chuck!
Kiley Combs and Rich Shoaf—Congratulations on the 3-year ATO renewal for the HC-130J! Without this approval, aircraft would essentially be grounded—cut off from the ability to communicate and share data with our mission partners. It requires a monumental amount of documentation and briefings through the engineering home offices—and this team absolutely crushed it; they received approval without any comments / actions at the highest level.
Ms. Jessica Smith provided exceptional support to the Program Support Division (PSD) at PEO SOFSA. Jessica always displays a “Can Do” attitude. Daily, she goes the extra mile to support our staff and take care of our customers for the Task Orders she supports. She was a true team player during our annual FY25 Strategic Workload Symposium, where she briefed two informational briefs (PEO SOFSA Portal Page and Service Delivery Summaries). On short notice (less than 5 hours), she briefed the Service Delivery Summary presentation for a coworker who couldn’t complete it due to an unexpected appointment. Her institutional knowledge enabled her to provide PEO SOFSA customers with a wealth of information to help them prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) packets for future requirements, supporting the warfighter. Her dedication, professionalism, and wealth of experience are a true asset to the PEO SOFSA Team.”

Odyssey’s Amanda Alt Outstanding Accomplishment for C3C/Kessel Run
Mrs. Amanda Alt finalized the Air Operations Center (AOC) Weapon System (WS) Enterprise Test and Evaluation (T&E) Strategy. She secured signature approval from all external supporting organizations, Major General Cropsey (PEO, Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management), and final approval from the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E), the senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense on operational testing. The approved strategy has been distributed to all supporting organizations.
The strategy was developed through multiple meetings and review sessions to identify testing requirements for Kessel Run’s Software Acquisition Pathway (SAP) processes. It aligns testing across several AOC WS efforts managed by Kessel Run: the 10.1 baseline, the Application and Transformation (AppTX) program to migrate legacy applications to the Cloud, and the modernization effort known as the Kessel Run All Domain Operations Suite (KRADOS).
This marks the first enterprise-level test strategy within the DoD to adopt the SAP for a system as large as the AOC WS. It transitions testing from a traditional “waterfall” sustainment approach to the DoDI 5000.87 Software Acquisition Pathway, which uses modern iterative methods (agile, CI/CD), advanced tools (DevSecOps), and human-centered design to test and deliver software continuously. Continuous testing across all AOC WS efforts will ensure that delivered products meet performance, reliability, security, survivability, and operational resilience requirements.

The HNIA Branch Chief recognized James Harter for his outstanding contributions to the Lantern Program. The Lantern Tower Climbing Team successfully installed an L-Band antenna, cohesively demonstrating expertise in hoisting, rappelling, and testing during the complex seven-hour operation. Their error-free work has been recognized as a model safety program by the base safety office. This drives Joint All Domain C2 development by supporting the Tactical Data Network’s Gray Flag exercise, in which Lincoln Labs’ two twin Otter aircraft will communicate with the tower. Finally, the team collaborated with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, synchronizing the use of no-cost Lantern SCIFs for the 126th Cyber Protection Battalion to support their Cyber warfare mission and train soldiers from across New England.
The HN team recognized Carla Yuska for her attention to detail and testing skills in identifying and communicating issues to the government’s system integrator, as well as for holding them accountable for NRC deficiencies. Carla identified a critical system integrator discrepancy in their Jira work package structuring that established product inefficiencies, making it challenging to track work across sustainment and new development efforts. Her actions triggered a government investigation into restricting the delivered work and gained efficiency in the Program’s execution.
Brian Banfield has recently been promoted to Area Lead and subsequently appointed as the on-site Task Lead to support Odyssey’s success in San Antonio. As the leader of a 15-employee team, Brian provided consistent, day-to-day leadership that ensured smooth operational execution. In addition to overseeing personnel, Brian took full ownership of essential administrative responsibilities, including the timely approval of timecards and travel expense reports, which directly contributed to payroll accuracy and employee satisfaction. Most importantly, Brian is the face of the customer in San Antonio, maintaining excellent communication with employees and the HN Operations Director, offering complete transparency and proactive updates that foster trust and operational alignment. Brian’s initiative, leadership, and dedication have had a profound and lasting impact on the team and the overall success of the mission.

Cybersecurity Information Assurance Support (CIAS)
Brendan Kok has been a hard charger since he joined the Air Force TEMPEST team in October 2024. Within his first week of employment, one of his three teammates was injured and had to be out of the office for the first five months of being hired. This meant he had little time to learn his specific duties as a TEMPEST countermeasure review validator on the CIAS contract. To his credit, he quickly identified his role on the team, which supports over 350 Air Force and Space Force cybersecurity offices, managing more than 18,000 classified processing locations worldwide. In his first 10 months, he reviewed over 2,600 engineering plans to secure Air and Space Force classified information systems from intentional and unintentional electronic-based vulnerabilities. At the same time, he answered over 1,300 requests for information via phone calls, emails, and other electronic correspondence with 100% accuracy. Also, he provided valuable insights into the AF TEMPEST policy rewrite. Brendan’s can-do attitude and team mentality make him an invaluable asset to his coworkers and manager, and bring credit to Odyssey as a whole.
As a member of the Air Force Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) team, Brian Muthami has been a rock supporting over 1,100 Air and Space Force classified and unclassified information systems, the security managers who administer them, and his government program heads. When the PPS team lost one of its members to the Air Force civil service, Brian jumped in, became well versed in and assumed the departed member’s duties, where he completed over 250 PPS compliance reviews, triaged and registered nearly 300 information systems security manager’s requests to connect updated and new ports and services to the DoD Information Network, and updated over 70 new service registrations. While Brian was picking up the slack due to the loss of his teammate, he continued to work on completing his cybersecurity bachelor’s degree. He studied for his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. It is teammates like Brian who strive to make their work family as constructive as possible, all the while working on their personal self-improvement goals. Brian’s willingness to help the team is a model for his coworkers and brings great pride to Odyssey.
SELOCY
Quinta Triplett provided behind-the-scenes support on SELOCY, assisting the Training Team in recently identifying missing test cases for decedent processing stemming from a prior BPM update. Upon notification, the responsible product team immediately shifted priorities to analyze, develop, and execute the required test cases. This timely action ensured training activities could continue without disruption. This effort reflects exceptional cross-team collaboration and adaptability, demonstrating how effectively our teams align to meet mission needs.
NC3 PAAS Contract
In recognition of Clayton Gardner‘s efforts, during the January 8th, 2025, Senior Leader Network Program Management Office Annual Offsite, a government team member experienced a critical medical episode, which rendered him unconscious. Without hesitation, Clay Gardner sprang into action, administering self-aid buddy care. Within a few moments, the Government team member regained consciousness as 9/11 was called. During the time before EMS arrived, Clay stayed with this Government team member, keeping a close eye and conducting a basic assessment of vital signs and mental cognizance. Clay kept extremely calm under pressure as most SLN PMO team members were in shock during this fluid situation. Clay’s ability & first aid knowledge, drawing upon decades of military service, played a vital role in what was a tense & nervous moment. It is with excellent recommendation that Clay be commended for assisting in a time of need, coming to the aid of a fellow SLN PMO Government Team Member in real life.
Donald “Donnie” O’Connor has been a valued asset to the NC Security Team since joining in February. On May 8th, Mr. Matt Casano, NH-04 Chief of Security, received the following feedback in the form of a recognition letter. Excerpts from the letter highlight his exemplary service, strong work ethic, unwavering dedication, and proactive approach to enhancing NC’s security posture. Additionally, he was recognized for strategically deploying sound mitigation emitters, completing SCIF accreditation equipment verification, and helping to improve infrastructure management by meticulously identifying and labeling all HVAC areas within the SCIF. Donnie’s reliability and willingness to go above & beyond reflect greatly upon himself, the NCO security team, and Odyssey.
The NCO Division Chief formally recognized Amanda Martinez for her outstanding performance as the AFNWC/NCO and AFNWC/NCW tasking manager. Her precision and persistence ensure timely, thorough responses to all taskings. She keeps leadership well-informed and supports the Commander’s Support Staff by coordinating across divisions. Amanda has adapted seamlessly to changes in leadership, enhancing coordination with the Chief Engineer and branch chiefs. She also leads efforts in the Strategic Resource Alignment Focus Area, managing Resource Board meetings and tracking action items. Her work building the Resource Board database—manually updating seating data across Hanscom and GSUs—provides critical insight for strategic facility and personnel planning. These efforts will enable easier tracking and personnel movement throughout the entire directorate, while providing leadership with facilities’ health information to inform strategic resource allocation decisions.
Scott McFall was instrumental in revamping The Monthly Accounting Tool (a pre-existing Excel spreadsheet that required substantial hand-jamming and redundant work). Data retention was a serious issue due to the loss of previous information between updated reports. Scott revamped the spreadsheet and delivered it on Government Teams, where personnel can work collaboratively using online or desktop versions of Excel. The AFNWC Portfolio Summary Power BI tool was built from scratch by Scott, delivering top-level current and historical Future Year Defense (FYDP) amounts, as well as congressional budget data for the current-year President’s Budget, across all NWC programs. The tool can filter according to Directorate, Cycle Year, and Range to determine future fiscal year estimates. This aggregational tool pulls data from multiple sources of truth—e.g., Air Force Materiel Command’s Program and Budget Enterprise System (PBES) and Congressional Reports—to help determine a program’s estimated budget (i.e., a one-stop shop for fiscal applicability). Scott’s contributions to AFNWC have not gone unnoticed. They are a true reflection of the stellar support Odyssey provides to the Air Force.
The Senior Leader Network Fielding Lead recognized Jon Sicard for providing excellent support in recent fielding events for the team. Jon provides excellent program management support as part of the SLN Fielding Team. In his role as Project Lead, he has jumped feet first in ensuring the project’s preliminary milestones have been met, including coordination of initial site survey and recent submittal & approval at the installation facility board. Often answering RFI’s last minute, Jon has proven his ability to think on his feet, which has become a valued trait to the program office. With less than 48 hours’ notice, Jon was thrust into the lead role for the TDY due to a fellow team member’s illness. With Jon’s leadership, the engineering visit was highly successful, with no impact due to the primary lead’s absence. His flexibility and ability to follow through ensured the success of this visit. Kudos was received from the site personnel on said visit, as not a stone was left unturned, and a quote, “one of the most productive engineering visits to date,” from the prime contractor.

Human Resources
We are excited to congratulate Mycala Tyler on celebrating her one-year anniversary with Odyssey on August 19th! Since joining the team, Mycala has become an essential resource in supporting HR operations and business needs. She is our go-to expert on the UKG system and Employee Cycle, regularly assisting business units with reporting, administering, and supporting the Odyssey University system, and contributing to numerous Enterprise Alignment initiatives. Join us on September 17th for 3RD Thursday!
This month’s 3RD Thursday All Hands will feature a presentation by Odyssey’s external marketing partner, Gladius. They’ll share the 2025 Odyssey Corporate Message Guidance, walking us through Version 1 of the updated messaging architecture and rollout plan—an important step in aligning how we talk about Odyssey moving forward. Don’t miss it!
Please remember to join 3rd Thursday Virtual Community Meetings every month—we highlight company news and a different part of our business on a rotating basis. Invitations for all 2025 3rd Thursday sessions are on your Odyssey calendar.
At the end of each 3rd Thursday session, Odyssey’s Executive Leadership Team will answer questions from team members—you can submit your questions using the button below.
