Payroll Specialist

Work Location:
Wakefield, Massachusetts

How Long Have You Been with Odyssey?
2 Years

What customer do you support?
Everyone! I support all of our employees and subcontractors

What do you do each day?
I never have the same day twice but we do have the same things we have to do each week. On Monday’s and Tuesdays, we are pushing to get all timesheets completed, signed, and approved. Once they are approved, Judy Poli and I must run time reports to make sure all timesheets are in compliance with company policies. That takes up the bulk of our time at the beginning of the week. Every other Wednesday we process the entirety of the payroll for the employees. The rest of the week I work on timesheet corrections, new hires, terminations, reimbursements, military leave differentials and all else that needs to be processed for the payroll.

What do you enjoy about working at Odyssey?
I feel like I am always learning so much about the defense industry. My prior work experience has been heavily hospitality and finance. So doing payroll for Odyssey has allowed me the opportunity to learn so much more than I thought when joining Odyssey.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Breckenridge, Colorado and stayed there until 4 years ago when I moved to Boston!

Tell us about your family, including pets:
I have a very large extended family and they are the main reason that I moved to Massachusetts. I also have my dog, Rangely. She is my best friend and follows me everywhere!

Any Nicknames?
I never had a nickname growing up but now Scott Stupinski calls me Kelsea Ballerini.

What do you like to do in your spare time?:
I am very fortunate to have an incredible family. I spend a lot of my free time with my family skiing here, or out in Colorado, and time on the beach. I am also self-teaching myself how to needlepoint!

Where would you want to go on your dream vacation?
I have been dreaming of going to Greece since I was 6 years old, so that is at the very top of my list. I also would love to do a safari in Africa and spend time in Australia and New Zealand. But in reality, any opportunity I have to see a new culture I will jump at the chance to do so.
