Molly Bushey:
Volunteering at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR)
Each weekend, Molly Bushey volunteers as a dog walker with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR), a Colorado Springs nonprofit that has been serving the community since 1949. As the largest animal sheltering organization for homeless and abused animals in Colorado, HSPPR operates as an independent nonprofit and relies heavily on community support to fund its mission. As an open-admission shelter, no animal is turned away, and the organization provides medical care for injured animals, investigates cruelty cases, reunites lost pets with their owners, and helps find loving homes for animals in need.
Through her volunteer work, Molly helps exercise and socialize dogs currently in shelter’s care. Regular walks and positive human interaction help reduce stress for the animals and can significantly improve their chances of being adopted.
For Molly, volunteering with HSPPR is a meaningful way to give back locally while supporting an organization making a tangible difference for animals and families across the Pikes Peak region.
