One Bistro is more than a restaurant—it’s a mission with a menu. As a faith-based nonprofit café, One Bistro exists to provide a place where the community can gather for meals served with dignity and love. Their unique “pay what you can, pay it forward, or volunteer” model ensures that every person—regardless of circumstance—can enjoy a hot, nutritious meal. By serving meals, fostering community, and offering a hand up rather than a handout, One Bistro brings people together in a powerful way.

Odyssey Employees Serving in Dayton

Our Dayton-based Odyssey employees have found a special connection with One Bistro. Most recently, Brian Cantrell, and George Coppock volunteered their time serving meals, extending kindness, and living out Odyssey’s value of Commitment through community service.

For John Kurian, One Bistro’s mission is especially meaningful. Every couple of months, John hosts breakfasts there with a group of men he mentors—using the café’s warm, welcoming environment as the backdrop for guidance, encouragement, and fellowship.

Looking Ahead: OdysseyCares at One Bistro

The spirit of giving doesn’t stop there. In January, our Dayton team will host an OdysseyCares volunteer event at One Bistro, reinforcing our shared commitment to building stronger communities. By preparing and serving meals, our team will be part of the café’s ongoing effort to break down barriers of hunger, isolation, and inequality.

One Bistro’s tagline says it best: “Our mission is to provide a place where our neighbors eat and come together as one community.” With the support of volunteers like Brian, George, John, and the Dayton team, that mission is thriving.
