Bone Marrow Donation—Dr. Audra Stone
In the fall of 2024, I got the call—someone needed my help to cure their blood cancer. As a potential donor listed on the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry for over 10 years, I always knew it was possible but was still surprised. I joined the registry as a student at a campus event, swabbing my cheek and writing down my details, fully on board with the mission of fighting blood cancer in the way that I could help, with my own blood.
NMDP provides a way to match individuals with closely related blood markers to someone battling a blood cancer. A donation of healthy blood stem cells, provided to the recipient, allows them to make new blood cells that don’t have cancer. So, when the program reached out and asked if I was still interested in donating, my answer was yes. A couple of trips to my local lab for blood draws and a trip to a regional apheresis center for the donation, and I am still happy to have done my part.
In reflection of my process, I am awed by the people who take a part in the mission of providing lifesaving treatment. From the workup specialists at NMDP to the healthcare staff at the donation center, and all those who I had no interactions with, they help make donating possible. Mostly, I am hopeful that the young person receiving my blood stem cells will be able to live a full long life free of leukemia, accomplishing everything they dream of.
Support for Partners in Housing—Colorado Springs
Huge thanks go out to Jaime Socotch, Sam Hanson, and Linda Murphy for going above and beyond to create four special baskets for Partners in Housing! The group put together a Welcome Basket, a Birthday Bag, a Welcome Baby Basket, and a Farewell Basket—each filled with love and essential items to help support individuals and families in transition.
Partners in Housing provides crucial support for people experiencing homelessness by offering housing, resources, and a pathway to self-sufficiency. Their mission is truly inspiring, and we’re so proud to be a part of it.
A special shoutout to Odyssey’s amazing Board of Directors / Owners for their support through OdysseyCares! Together, we’re making a difference. Let’s continue to spread kindness and support those in need!

Dayton Regional STEM School Sponsorship—Robotics FIRST Tech Challenge Team (FTC)
The Dayton Regional STEM School FTC and FTR Teams recently enjoyed a banquet to celebrate a year of growth and success—great job kids! Odyssey has been proud to sponsor the Dayton Regional STEM School’s FIRST Tech Challenge Team (FTC). This community outreach helped students to learn valuable engineering and coding skills while building confidence in their abilities. The skills they learn will develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities that will carry them far in their future careers.
- The Middle School FIRST Tech Challenge Team had a successful year. They learned some important engineering, coding, and teamwork skills.
- The FIRST Robotics Competition Team (FRC) also did an amazing job this year, earning an invite to a national robotics championship tournament in Texas where they were recognized as one of eight teams out of over 400 competitors to be named Rookie of the Year!
