Core Values LogoAbout Odyssey’s Core Values…

Our Core Values of Commitment, Ambition and Respect can be interpreted in many ways, depending on individual perspectives and experiences. Odyssey CEO, Matt Kasberg recently shared his perspective on our Core Values…

Commitment is essential for bothindividual and organizational success. It embodies dedication, responsibility, and loyalty, motivating us to give our best toward achieving common goals. In dynamic, competitive markets like ours, commitment can mean the difference between thriving and merely surviving. Commitment means exceeding the minimum expectations. It involves a strong work ethic, persistence, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities when necessary. Committed individuals consistently contribute to team goals, demonstrate reliability, and seek continuous improvement in their work. At Odyssey, fostering a culture of commitment across the organization is crucial. It promotes collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Organizational commitment also means being adaptable and responsive to market changes, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and continuously striving for excellence. Commitment is a foundational pillar supporting a successful, sustainable environment, where dedication, trust, and shared purpose can flourish, ultimately leading to better outcomes for all.

Ambition is a powerful force that fuels personal growth, organizational success, and progress. It is the desire to achieve goals, exceed expectations, and push boundaries, individually and collectively. Ambition is not just about climbing the corporate ladder but also about continuous improvement, overcoming challenges, and contributing to the company’s long-term vision. At Odyssey, fostering a culture of ambition is essential for growth. Ambitious individuals inspire others to raise their own standards, resulting in a more dynamic and thriving work environment. A company that nurtures ambition fosters a workforce of continuous improvement that is eager to embrace new ideas and motivated to achieve high-level outcomes. This type of culture strengthens purpose and ability in the face of change. However, ambition must be balanced with collaboration and integrity. Unchecked ambition can lead to unhealthy competition, burnout, and unethical behavior. Organizations must cultivate an environment where ambition is channeled positively—where individuals are motivated not just by personal success, but by collective goals.

Respect is foundational to building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and creating a culture of trust and inclusion. In a professional setting, respect is more than just a social nicety—it’s a crucial element for positive interactions and overall business success. Respect is demonstrated through active listening, constructive feedback, and the recognition of each person’s unique skills and perspectives. A respectful workplace encourages open communication, where individuals can share ideas without fear of ridicule. It fosters belonging, boosts morale, and reduces workplace stress, leading to a more harmonious work environment. At Odyssey, fostering a culture of respect is vital for promoting diversity and inclusion. It ensures that all voices are heard and valued, regardless of rank, gender, ethnicity, or background. When respect is embedded in the company’s culture, it boosts employee satisfaction and enhances the organization’s reputation with partners and customers. Respect requires ongoing effort and awareness. It cannot be assumed or taken for granted; it must be actively nurtured through communication, policies, and leadership. Respect is a cornerstone of Odyssey’s success, fostering trust, collaboration, and performance, and it ultimately contributes to our long-term success.

As we move forward, we must continue to embody these values in everything we do—individually and collectively. By fostering a culture that values dedication, personal growth, and mutual respect, we ensure that we not only achieve our goals but also build a workplace where every individual can thrive.

2025 Odyssey Organization Changes

Our leadership transition and new operating construct are a planned process we’ve implemented to achieve our 2025-2027 strategic objectives. Key items include:

Tom Portlock has assumed his new role as Chairman of our Board of Directors, where he will provide strategic guidance on our desired growth path moving forward. Matt Kasberg has transitioned into the role of Chief Executive Office where he will guide the day-to-day leadership of the company. Instead of backfilling his previous role as Chief Operating Officer, three Vice Presidents will come onboard, overseeing Growth, Operations, and Integration—they will report to Matt Kasberg.

Our Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Connolly, will continue to oversee security and technology, contracts and compliance, finance, and human resources.

Odyssey is evolving the structure of our operations and business functions to optimize for future growth, better serve the entire organization, and improve the continuity of our processes across our rapidly growing enterprise. Please see the org chart below for specifics on aligning our seven corporate groups. In this new structure, most team members will continue reporting within the organization as they do today.

As we progress, we’ll share more about these changes, answer your questions, and get your feedback. Please  please keep an eye out for communications, specific schedules, and invitations as we get them on the calendar.

Our entire management team, from Task Leads to the ELT, is committed to fostering a thriving future for our people, customers, partners, and company. Amidst these changes, here is what is not changing:

  • Our three key priorities of enhanced employee care, exceptional contract performance, and organizational excellence.
  • Our core values of commitment, ambition, and respect that help empower our people, elevate our partnerships, and uphold our corporate standards.
  • Our 2025-2027 strategic objectives of measured growth, preparing to transition from a small business environment, continuing to integrate within our corporate structure, strengthening our strategic relationships and furthering the depth of our technical capabilities.
  • Our leadership team’s commitment to proactive and transparent communication.

Odyssey’s Executive Leadership Team looks forward to working with all of you as we lead our company into the future together!
