Join us on May 15th for the Odyssey All Hands 3RD Thursday!

3rd Thursday

This month’s event will feature IT’s Bobby King presenting on Odyssey’s ongoing Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). CMMC is the framework that aims to ensure that IT systems used by contractors of the United States Department of Defense (DoD) are compliant with mandatory IT security requirements.

A few key points about CMMC:

  • CMMC verifies compliance with security requirements.
  • CMMC strengthens accountability for prime contractors to ensure security across their supply chain.
  • CMMC provides assurance that contractors and subcontractors meet DoD’s cybersecurity requirements.
  • CMMC establishes a unified standard for assessing and enhancing cybersecurity posture.

Check your Outlook calendar for the invite—we look forward to seeing you there!

Please remember to join our monthly All Hands 3rd Thursday Meetings, where we highlight company news and a different part of our business on a rotating basis. Invitations for all 2025 3rd Thursday sessions should be on your Odyssey calendar.

At the end of each 3rd Thursday session, Odyssey’s Executive Leadership Team will answer questions from team members—you can submit your questions and / or suggestions using the button below.

Security Connection Newsletter

ISD LogoOdyssey’s Security Department is here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Check your Outlook inbox for the 2025 Spring Security Connection Email from Odyssey Director of Security, Michael Laurie (michaellaurie@odysseyconsult.com). We welcome your feedback, especially if questions arise after reviewing the newsletter. An item from the Spring issue:

Email Words that Could Signal a Scam

“Act fast.” Two simple words, but the FBI is warning computer users to think of them as a bright-red flag—and a waving one at that. The phrase is commonly used by scammers to create a sense of urgency in email recipients. The scammers’ goal is to pressure victims into clicking links, opening attachments, or sharing sensitive information without thinking first. In the age of AI, spotting phishing messages is harder than ever—criminals use the tech to write persuasive messages that can fool even experts. The days of sloppy phishing emails riddled with typos and poor grammar are gone.

It’s important to train yourself to look for not only “act fast” but to be aware of similar red flags:

  • “Act now”
  • “Security alert”
  • “Your account is frozen”
  • “We couldn’t deliver your package”

Odyssey’s Security Department is here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns to Director of Security, Michael Laurie (michaellaurie@odysseyconsult.com).
