Medical Insurance
About the Plans
Medical insurance covers you when and if you and / or a covered member of your family is sick or injured. To help you stay healthy, medical insurance also covers:
- Preventative care
- Doctors’ visits
- Prescription medications
- Emergency room visits
- Imaging and screenings
- And much more
You have a choice between two medical plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield:
BCBS High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
The HDHP is called the BCBS Saver Plan and if enrolled, you are eligible to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA). On this plan, all services are subject to the deductible, including prescription drugs.
BCBS PPO Plan
This plan is paired with a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). This plan consists of copays for services, as well as deductible expenses.
Both plans are PPO plans, meaning you can see any provider of your choosing, in or out of network and they will be covered. Keep in mind, staying in network offers better coverage and lower out-of-pocket costs. In addition, both plans have a $5,000 per individual and $10,000 employee + 1 and Family deductible, but they both provide options to help offset the deductible.
