Long-Term Disability Insurance

About the Plans

Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTD) is a type of income protection designed to cover serious injuries and illnesses that keep you out of work for three (3) months or longer. This includes permanent disabilities that leave you unable to return to work.

This benefit pays 60% of your monthly income to a maximum of $10,000, and includes the following:

  • Return to Work Incentive
  • Survivor Benefit
  • Managed Rehabilitation Benefit
  • Child Care Benefit
  • Waiver of Premium Benefit

Odyssey offers two options for Long-Term Disability Insurance—a voluntary, employee-funded plan, and a basic, Odyssey-paid plan:

Voluntary, Employee-Funded Long-Term Disability (Tax Choice Plan)
Offers you the ability to pay the LTD premiums on a per pay period basis. When / if you need to use the benefit, you will receive funds tax free.

Odyssey-paid Long-Term Disability
You are automatically enrolled in this LTD plan if you decline the Tax Choice option. This benefit, if needed, will require you to pay taxes on any funds received.
